It's 1:35 right now, and I have class around 2:00. Let's see what I can get out in this short time window.

Living on my own, I have had most of my time dedicated to watching fantastic online content, because I believe that there are enough hilarious and informative web shows to keep me from television and the like.
Today, I watched two of the videos of Ze Frank at TED, where he gave ~20-minute talks about what he has done, and how it has effected him. I'm no stranger to The Show with Ze Frank, but I was almost completely unaware of the projects he had been conducting (even before the show). I had actually read about a song he wrote, using many people's voices, to comfort a woman who was losing hope with her job and life in general, but I didn't know it was Ze Frank. Seeing the TED talk connected all of the dots in my head, and completely inspired me. So much so that I'm quickly typing this "urgent" blog post in the library at my new university.
I want to do something. I mean, something, not just what I do now. I currently am an active video blogger on YouTube (not as active as Ze was, though), and I post GIFs of things I think are funny on Tumblr, but I do not feel that I've adequately utilized the community. There are a lot of great people who want to do good things, and I need to harness the energy and see what I can do with it.

     This is a subject I could have gone on about in the past, since I've always felt the same way, but It's in the forefront of my thoughts at the moment because I am moving out. When moving out, one must make the choice on whether to pay for cable. The choice is simple.
     Beyond this simple declaration of my opinion, I have more to explain. Have you ever really watched a web show? I mean, a REALLY great web show? They can show you what you're missing with old media. Television is extremely terrible, and I just can't go back to watching it. Even channels like discovery channel and the history channel --Which are supposed to help people learn-- are filled with those bickering idiots that make motorcycles, people trying SO hard to lose weight, and guys conning people out of their treasures to sell for a quick profit. Keep in mind, this is the peak. Other shows are about terrible people. Jersey Shore; all shows about young pregnant women, to name a "few". I just don't understand the need to get off on seeing how terrible humanity can be. I suspect a common insecurity deep within the minds of Americans. The need to watch terrible people be terrible people stems from a need of a distraction from the thought of being a terrible person in one's own mind. I apologize if you must read over that last sentence several times.
     Of course, this whole mental process is a bunch of bologna, and you know it. The fans of these shows aren't necessarily horrible people. Television programs of this nature pick out the exceptions and put them on tele screens all over the world. Technically, the shows that are picked to be broadcast are those that are to receive a high viewership. Stop it. You can live without bridezillas. Think. Do not contribute to the fanbase of these terrible empires. They only exist based on precise research on what the public likes.

It's been a really weird day. Looking over everything, I can only notice that it consists of petty first-world problems. My lack of outgoingness, my grades in my Management course in college, and still living with my parents at 19 years old, to name a few. It's silly how we subconsciously assess what we have, and then build standards on our lives from it. If I came from a poor family, I may feel exactly like I do now if I worried about how I would pay for food, or I would worry about my successful business losing some money this quarter if I happened to be a man of business. Standards. They're imaginary. Made up. You know; everyone's standards for themselves are totally different. No one likes to say this, but who decides what is trivial? In theory, wouldn't factors that contribute to if we stay alive or not take precedence? The tables in this world turn, because our standards are all completely different. They're just made up. Pondering all of this, only one question keeps ringing in my mind like an annoying, persistent "friend" from high school who has my phone number (another example)... How can I break free of my life's standards?

     I define the difference between a nerd and a geek as a focus difference. Nerds focus on practical subjects and are more associated with intelligence. Geeks fixate on a particular hobby or course of study for no particular reason, and know the ins and outs of it. Nerds seem to be a specific brand of geek; The kind of geek that will make a lot of money later on. That definition makes sense to me, except for other specific hobbies. If this reasoning applied, then all people who were good at sports like football would be geeks. By definition, they would be geeks because they know a lot and are physically seasoned in a useless game. Pretty much all hobbies are useless, so I'm not poking fun. They were the popular kids in school, so I'm not so sure the public would consider them geeks. I think it's a mix of little definition and a lot of varying speculation. Like... fashion. If you take fashion seriously, then take into account the fact that mullets, at one time, were acceptable. I don't want to hold geekiness to a double standard like that. I refuse to take it seriously.
     By the way, I completely went off topic from what I wanted to originally talk about. Then, I forgot what I originally wanted to talk about. It turns out, "Max's Memory Dump" might be the perfect name for this blog after all.

     I've thought of everything I possibly could about my living, and I've always come down to the same conclusion. I need to invent a job.
     By saying this, I mean that I should either be self-employed or make money in a way that no one has ever done before. Creating an original job would be difficult seeing as The Simpsons probably already did it. I'm thinking along the lines of my talents. I'm not so sure that this will be an easy endeavor, as few of my talents could ever possibly be marketable. I have good hand-eye coordination... Nah. I've recorded and edited 102 Youtube videos... I consider myself a good editor, so that will probably come in handy later. Yeah, I should probably make money doing that. Local commercials would be really cool. Every time I see a commercial in these parts, it makes me sick to my stomach. These companies probably pay a "professional" loads of money do use a crappy camera and throw together some clips and text. I could do that. Rhett & Link seem to be quite inspiring lately. Love those guys. That's a command. LOVE THEM.
    But seriously...
It sounds like it's going to be best for me to major in media at West Virginia State University. Their media program is very film-oriented. I think I use hyphens too much. Marshall University's media program is fantastic, but print journalism, unfortunately, will die, and I'm really not into radio. I don't have the voice for it either. I don't really listen to it either. I'll stick with my interests.
    and of course... There's always the possibility of a lucky break to catch. Maybe my YouTube videos will catch on one day. I have a decent amount of subscribers in a year, so I just need to persevere. Maybe I'll decide to be an actor. I haven't ever tried acting, besides being an idiot on YouTube. Fun-Relevant-Fact: Zach Galifianakis was actually majoring in media before he decided to act. He dropped out two years in, but yeah...
     It sounds in likely in my own head, but many people I've had the pleasure of small-talk with in recent years has told be to try stand up comedy. I don't know if you know this about me, but I'm really into stand up comedy. Not necessarily my own, but others'. I could give you a list of my favorite comedians in different genres, etc. So, naturally that suggestion from these small-talkers (there's that hyphen again) has been getting me excited. There's a Funny Bone comedy club near me. There's an open mic night and everything... For that kind of stand up, I would only have to write about ten minutes or less of material. I could do that. I mean, this whole stand up comedy thing would definitely go along with other possibilities under the "lucky breaks" category, but it's possible. I'll figure something out eventually. I'll just not f*ck up in college, for now.

Feeling French

With this post comes a specific inspiration in mind, but a general message nonetheless.

A second ago, I finished watching the film Amélie. It's totally French; you probably couldn't tell or anything.

After watching, I had this sudden large rush of inspiration to learn the French language. I'd never really wanted to learn it before. I took Spanish in highschool. Point being, good movies seem to have a lasting effect onto things I want to do. Here's another example for perspective: After I saw the Social Network for the first time, I wanted to go and learn a bunch of programming languages and whatnot. Also, people feel like they can kick ass after they watch a Jackie Chan movie. "I wish somebody would mess with me right now!". That last one probably got you.

Anyways,

I can't help but wonder what it would be like to watch movies to keep doing everything you do in your life. The inspirational effect from movies seem to last the whole day after you watch. It's crazy how that works. What if a person watched movies about hackers every day to get better grades as a Computer Science major? I think It could work, given there are an assortment of movies to not get tired of.

Here's another thought I had a second ago.

What if, after viewing an inspirational movie, you stay awake for as long as you can? Would the effects of the movie stick around until you pass out? I don't even know, but I feel like I need to conduct an experiment in the near future, seeing as I'm quite useless at the moment.

     Hello, you small amount of readers!
I have a previously frozen pizza brewing, and I thought I'd take these incredibly long minutes to talk about Minecraft. I don't think I've spoken about that game on this blog before, so I just... will. Now. Alrighty then.
Minecraft is beautiful in many ways, but one of those ways sets it apart from it's brothers and sisters. Anyone who checks the gameplay out for the first time is going to question whether it's even worth (whatever the pricetag might be).
     In addition, it doesn't take long to notice that everyone around you loves it, and that there happens be a super-gigantic community all over the internet of people who play it.
For example, I searched for and found the song "Moar Ghosts and Stuff" by Deadmou5 on youtube, so I could listen to it while playing Minecraft. There really isn't a reason that I listen to it specifically, but I do appreciate some background music. In the top-rated comments of this video/song/thing, there was a comment that said something like, "This song + Minecraft = godly". Though I do agree with that comment, I still found it super strange to see that as a top rated comment, and I had never felt more surrounded by other "Minecrafters".
     At that point, I had already decided to try and play on some servers out there. Playing the game with other people is seriously another whole different experience. I find that servers are more about epic building than the whole "surviving and thriving" mode that single-player offers, so everyone is always hoping to 1up the next person. This type of atmosphere most often leads to amazing results.
I mean, have you ever seen a pixel portrait in Minecraft? That should be proof enough.
I think I'll take this pizza out in a second. I'll probably devour it too.

This post is exactly what the title suggests!
I've been given recent inspiration to make this, as Wheezy Waiter's been a big help recently. Yesterday around 8pm, Wheezy Waiter happened to like a video of mine called, "Take On Oatmeal". I made the video about a month ago and it was based on a video he made a few years ago called, "Take On Chores". Right after I made it, I set it as a response to Craig's video, but that video did not automatically accept responses; they had to be approved my him. Yesterday, he approved the response (Mine is the only current accepted response to that video), and pressed the LIKE button on it! When someone does that, it shows up in their channel's "Recent Activity" box and on the front pages of everyone subscribed to him. So, my video was on roughly 300,000 people's home pages as well as his channel. Needless to say, I did an epic happy-dance.

This is what kind of thing gives me hope for the community on YouTube. Small things like "liking" a video or accepting responses can help so stinking much, no matter who you are. This is also the reason I like to feature people's waves in my videos. I love it. If you're reading and upload videos, make sure to lend a helping hand every once in a while, as it can easily make someone's day. It might even change one's life. As always, DFTBA. :)

What a shocker; I know.
Naturally, I'm a worrier. I'm not proud of it, I'm just acknowledging this fact, as it may preface anything I'm about to write.
It seems like every possible situation in my life, that I can think of, turns out negatively. There usually seems to be two different kinds of depressing hypothetical situations playing through my mind. The first being that I'm going to be depressed later on because I will have failed at how I'm supposed to live my life. Honestly, I'm not feeling to great right now, but I can see it getting worse. The second possibility is that I do what I can to ensure a good future, but I would be forcing depression on myself now for a "better tomorrow". The thought of that makes me sick. I feel like there is some solid information that everyone else knows, and my lack of common sense continues to keep away from my grasp. By the way, my common sense is horrible. I over-analyze everything. Anyways, I'm very lazy, and that makes everything worse. It may be hard to believe, but being lazy is no way to be happy. I'm ashamed that I'm lazy, but I have no will-power otherwise. On top of all of this, I'm not really too confident with women. Not even close. I don't remember the last relationship I had that I actually initiated. I feel more like a total loser right now than I ever have in my entire life. I feel that everyone else is speeding past me and doing what they're doing while I struggle with all of it. I rarely feel like I'm ahead of the game. With anything. I am constantly presented with fantastic opportunities, and I do nothing. I am the guy you hear about that is an idiot because he ignores things that are great. Did I start off wrong? Did I dig myself into a hole I can't climb out of? I can't even figure that one out either. I'm going to stare at my ceiling for a few hours now. Thanks for reading.

I recently considered what's going through the brain of the poster, and the brain of the reader. I'll use myself as an example:

I've always been a huge fan of Bo Burnham, and have kept up with his blog since the beginning. Honestly, it got to the point where I would be happy about anything he posted. I really wouldn't even care, because I thought it was nice to see that he cared to update and still existed on the internet. Although his YouTube presence is pretty dead... he's definitely still around on the internet.

In addition, I also considered my feelings toward posting these blogs. I always feel like I shouldn't be posting unless I have some profound thought in my head, or maybe a discussion-stirring topic to present. I now know that that isn't necessarily true. I'm sure there is at least one person out there that is happy that I post SOMETHING. Blogger shows you your stats. Numbers don't lie. Though small, the numbers are there.

If you are reading this, I thank you. Why else would I post anything? I'm glad you read my blog, whether it's just this time, or if you have been regularly, or if you plan to continue reading in the future. I appreciate that someone wants to hear what I have to say... blog posts, in this situation.

I just thought about uploading videos to Youtube. There are settings that you may mess with before it goes live on the internet. For instance, you can make it public, viewable by a link, or completely private. What if I made videos (other than MWF out of the week) that could set to viewable by link... and put them here! I'll have to call those something so that you know it's one of them. I think this isn't a bad idea. They'd be stupid videos, but I don't care too much. They'd better than my VEDA videos though. They'll be with my good camera. I might edit them. Who knows?

So, I have this plan to make my Facebook can page have content that you can only see when you're there. I want to implement this because there really isn't much of a reason to join unless you want to say that you're a fan on Facebook. The trouble is, I'm not so sure what I should be doing on that page to make it unique in that regard. On here, you can read things I type... as appetizing as that sounds. There, I'm not sure. The only thing I could of think of would be to randomly upload webcam videos every now and then. The problem is, the audio on my webcam is really really bad. Like... you wouldn't be able to understand me. So, I think when I get some money, I'll invest in a webcam just so I can do that. It'll be like a 3rd channel to upload videos on! That sounds tiring. Regardless, I love to make videos, whether they are heavily edited or not. I never considered myself to be a very artistic person, but if it counts, I'm the best at making videos. Not to say I'm good, but I'm just worse at other things. I'm okay at music, I suppose. Thanks for reading.

I'm right handed, but I want to write with my left hand. It's just something to do.
I don't know any people who write with their opposite hand, so I'll do it!
I think I'll update every now and then and post a picture of my "works".
